About the event
This Ideas-Exchange is an interactive online event - it is suitable for both church leaders and members.
We will be exploring
- Power and vulnerability
- Systems and cultures
- Prevention, accountability and protection
- Forgiveness, repentance, reconciliation and restoration
The event is based on the work of Diana Langberg, Mark Meynell, Chuck de Groat, Laura Barringer, Scott McKnight, Marcus Honeysett, Wade Mullen, Lisa Oakley, Justin Humphreys, Michael Kruger, numerous reports and reviews of churches and organisations where things have gone wrong, and the experience of many, many unidentified survivors.
In 2020/21 Anglican Futures ran a series of Ideas Exchanges called "Loving Local Churches" - a few comments from participants:
"Excellent and much needed. Much more to be done also."
"It really does mean the world that you're encouraging people to engage with this topic and think about it in such a gentle, gracious and ultimately positive way."
"As someone from a survivor-led group, it was also really helpful to be talking about prevention, and some of the taboos around that, not just responding when things have already gone wrong."
Anglican Futures is a charity - we are currently all volunteers, and we offer all our services free at the point of need, relying on donations to cover the costs - https://www.anglicanfutures.org/donations
